Overview of November 27:
A sort of mutiny rises early in the day. The day of rest that the journeymen have looked forward to never came to fruition, and it is decided to press on. The media crew, however, have other plans. Throughout the journey, even on rest days, the media crew has been hard at work—editing video and still images, working on journals, updating the web site, maintaining equipment, and other various tasks. In essence, the media crew has had very little in the way of rest. And so coming together they decide to take matters into their own hands and go into Damascus to play the tourist on an "anti-media" day.
The other journeymen support the one day vacation, but continue on through the desert themselves, bringing the group, as a whole, that much closer to their goal.
A point worthy of note: Today begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadon, when Muslims around the world fast from before sunrise to sunset. Three members of the journey, Andre, jake and John have decided to fast with their Muslim friends to show solidarity and build bridges.
